Resizing patterns using a grid is error prone and takes too much time.
Resizing using a photocopier is expensive, you can't do it from home, and it's hard to get it to scale precisely.
You can print designs to any size on your home printer using the Rapid Resizer software. It automatically prints large sizes across multiple pages.
Start enlarging patterns now with a free trial of the Rapid Resizer.
You can also use the Pattern Wizard craft pattern design software to draw your own original patterns and print them full size.

The Rapid Resizer pattern printing software can easily print your pattern to any size at home, but it tends to assume that you have a specific enlarged size in mind.
If you just want to enlarge what you have by whatever percentage or scale, the problem is that the Rapid Resizer doesn't always know the original real world size of the pattern image.
So if you want to, for example, double (200%) the size of what you have, you'll usually have to measure the original size with a ruler and type that into the Rapid Resizer. Then you can enter 200 in the % field and click the button to have it multiply for you.
You can also get the enlarged size using this little calculator:
| Original width or height | ||
| Scale | % | |
| New size | ? |

Don't Google for the pattern. You'll have to dig through a lot of poorly organized junk websites.
It's much quicker to use Google image search. By setting a couple options you can get it to show only patterns.
This form does the same steps automatically:
Once you've found a pattern you like, you want to get the full-size version, in terms of detail not inches. It will print better with less blurring or jagged lines.

Here's how my stained glass computer programs differ, so you can figure out which are right for you.
The original Rapid Resizer is for resizing stained glass patterns. It only runs on Windows. Technically, you can get it to run on a Mac, but it's tricky.
The Pattern Wizard is for designing your own stained glass patterns. Any pattern you draw in it can be printed full size, spanning pages, without the Rapid Resizer. If you want to enlarge patterns from elsewhere, you'll still need the Rapid Resizer. You get a discount when you buy both. The Pattern Wizard is also a Windows only program.
Rapid Resizer Online is the new version of the Rapid Resizer that runs in your web browser. Nothing to install and works on everything - Windows, Mac, iPad, etc. You buy it on a yearly basis. The downside is that it doesn't yet have all the features of the original Rapid Resizer. It does have a few advantages, such as integration with a word pattern maker and an option to keep lines smooth when enlarging extremely.
